Andreas Kioroglou, along with his team of designers, was tasked with creating a new brand for innovative nano-technology products. Through extensive international research of the product category and working within a limited budget, they developed a packaging design that would allow Nanoskin to stand out from its competitors.
The key feature of the Nanoskin packaging is its distinctive shape. The shaved corner box design not only gives the brand a dynamic feeling but also sets it apart from the international competition. The hexagonal shape, inspired by the nano-cell, is visually striking and instantly recognizable.
In addition to the unique shape, the packaging also serves a functional purpose. All Nanoskin products are designed for DIY application in 2 or 3 simple steps. To aid consumers in the application process and avoid any mistakes, the bottle labels were designed in a way that clearly identifies each step.
The materials used for the Nanoskin packaging were carefully chosen to ensure both durability and visual appeal. The professional line of boxes is made from E-Flute corrugated board, while the DIY line is made from SBS 450gsm. The printing technology used is offset printing, which allows for high-quality and precise printing.
The dimensions of the Nanoskin packaging vary depending on the product size. The professional boxes measure 24.5x13x24cm, while the medium DIY boxes measure 10.5x8.5x17cm, and the small DIY boxes measure 10.5x5.4x8.5cm.
Despite the challenges of working within a limited budget, the Nanoskin packaging design successfully captures the essence of the brand and sets it apart from its competitors. The distinctive shape, combined with the clear labeling for DIY application, ensures that consumers can easily identify and use Nanoskin products.
In recognition of its outstanding design, the Nanoskin packaging was awarded the Bronze A' Design Award in 2018. This prestigious award is bestowed upon designs that exhibit strong technical and creative skills, contributing to quality of life improvements and making the world a better place.
